Where I work — the Kansas City metro

I'm a mobile welder based in the Kansas City area, and I cover the metro on both sides of the state line. Engine-driven rig, I come to you — your shop, your yard, your jobsite, your driveway. The service call ($225, includes travel + your first hour) covers travel anywhere in the metro; past about 30 miles from base I add mileage or quote the trip flat.

Cities I cover

I drive the whole metro. These four have their own pages because they're where I get called most:

• Overland Park, KS — biggest, busiest KS suburb. Commercial buildings, HOAs, fab shops, and a lot of residential railing and gate work.
• Olathe, KS — industrial parks, contractors, ag on the south and west edges.
• Lee's Summit, MO — fast-growing MO-side suburb, mix of commercial, residential, and light industrial.
• Independence, MO — industrial corridor plus a lot of older buildings with steel that needs work.

Plus everywhere else in the metro: Kansas City MO, Kansas City KS, Lenexa, Shawnee, Leawood, Prairie Village, Mission, Merriam, Gladstone, Liberty, North Kansas City, Raytown, Grandview, Blue Springs, Belton, Raymore, and out into the rural fringe — Cass, Ray, Lafayette, Miami, and Franklin counties — for ag and equipment work. Everything on the services list travels: on-site welding repair, trailer and fleet repair, custom fabrication, handrails and guardrails, heavy equipment and ag repair, and aluminum and stainless TIG.

Drive-time honesty

I'll be straight with you about when I can get there. The metro's tight enough that most jobs are a same-day-or-next-day reach; the farther out you are, the more it matters that we line up the timing. If you're on the rural edge I'll batch you with other work out that direction when I can — it keeps the cost down for both of us.
